you can find so many wonderful scandinavian things in here.
(via red house)

there are some beautiful art prints at spruce avenue.
i really like the greenhouse one on the bottom.

...and i am intrigued by this body of artwork.

oh and did you know that millimeter/milligram has a new cafe and shop in south korea? it looks really lovely.

love, love, love

i love the work of bernd and hilla becher.
repetition and the vernacular are very important to me.

i love samuel beckett.
i am hoping this collection makes its way onto my shelves sometime soon.
its rare when both the covers and what's in between them are equally interesting and exciting.

and i love this, which has appeared here before.
but once was not enough.

this is kind of perfect.
(they also have labello, which can sometimes be hard to find here in the united states and about which i am currently obsessing. the classic, of course.)

i like this idea.

so very cool.
(thank you, fine little day! i'm glad you are okay too!)

oh and some shaker inspiration.
some more here.

ever since it popped up in the latest issue of house & garden (a suprisingly good issue, by the way), i can't get this photograph by adam fuss out of my head.

since i was busy over in canada eloping, i missed bklyn designs this year.
but i've been peeking at the coverage on other blogs and was really taken with platform.

also, i'm really intrigued by BLESS.

i'm a married lady...

yes yes
we eloped to canada(!)
and were married there on may 8, 2007

it was lovely, happy, wonderful, fantastic, fun, silly, romantic, everything!

many many thanks to the generous, patient and kind mav, who created our beautiful announcement above. thanks to three sweet and exceedingly helpful ladies - lisa, moira and denise - who gave tons of moral support. thanks to all the lovely current and ex-vancouverites that pointed me to all the best places to see and things to do. and lastly, (but absolutely not least) thanks to our dear families for weathering the surprise we threw their way and supporting us in our crazy adventure.

an airborne toxic event
...yes that's a delillo reference.
(via here and here)

oh and also from my inbox, an inspiring new blog:
reference library

i'm going away for a while, but will be back with big news on or about may 13.
see you soon...

i am going to see this tonight and i'm a bit beyond excited.
did you see her on snl? an all female brass band!
if you haven't seen it, this is amazing too.

laser-cutting on paper is so cool.
my boyfriend jan brought this home the other night.
i'm a little bit obsessed with it.
(check out the back view too)

this does look stunning.

i want some of these.
beautiful and useful.

also, i think i have a growing obsession with nambu-tekki.
yes, an obsession.

oh and there is new work by anthony goicolea over at postmasters, so if you are in new york city, it might be worth checking out.
(thank you, jennifer!)
